I joined with almost zero idea of how digital marketing works. The first few weeks were very basic – what a lead is, how websites get visitors, how Google search really works. At that time it felt a bit slow, but later I realised it helped a lot. Now I can open Google Ads and Search Console on my own and I don’t feel scared of the tools.
I was working in sales and wanted to move into a more digital role. Classes focused on how campaigns actually bring leads, not just button-click training. The placement team never promised any “100% job in 2 months”, but they did help me fix my CV, LinkedIn and interview answers. After a few interviews I finally got a Digital Marketing Executive role.
I joined mainly to promote my local business. Some of the terms in the beginning felt heavy – CTR, CPC, funnel – but the trainer kept using examples like restaurants, coaching centres and local shops, which made it easier. I still take a bit of time to read reports, but I can run simple Google and Facebook campaigns by myself now.
I don’t have a technical background, so I was worried in the beginning. But content writing, blog topics and social media planning were explained in very simple language. Sometimes I couldn’t complete all homework on time, but we practised a lot inside the class. Now I handle Instagram posts and blog content for a small brand.
I was more interested in the tracking and data side. GA4, pixels and events were confusing at first, but we went through them multiple times and slowly it started to make sense. Because of office hours, I missed a couple of offline classes, but recordings and extra doubt sessions helped me catch up.
After a long break from studies, I was quite nervous. The trainers were patient and never made me feel that I was “too slow”. Learning Canva, basic ads and social media planning step by step gave me confidence. Right now I manage social media for a few small clients from home along with my family responsibilities.
The live projects were the best part for me. We worked on lead generation campaigns similar to what I later saw in the agency – education, local services, etc. Agency work is still hectic, but the tools and flow did not feel completely new because we had already practised similar tasks in class.
In MBA we study marketing concepts, but here I saw how those ideas look inside real dashboards and reports. We prepared funnels, basic strategies and performance reports. I even used one of my digital marketing projects as a college presentation and my faculty liked the practical approach.
On some days the lab systems felt a bit slow when everyone was running tools together, but trainers adjusted the timing and gave extra practice. What I liked is that they connect SEO, ads, landing pages and WhatsApp follow-up as one flow instead of teaching everything in separate boxes.
It did not happen in one shot – I had to attend a few interviews before I got selected.
